The excellent sunny and hot weather on the south coast has helped us run extra training sessions in the sea almost every day, and we also lucky that we are continuing with the swim training at the picturesque Arundel lido. We have also be running weekly land fitness sessions that have proved really popular.
With so many of our squad members at home this summer, all of the sessions have been well attended and although it has taken a great deal of work to meet the standards of the “new normal,” we have been delighted with what we have managed to achieve.
The sessions in the sea are proving surprisingly popular and we are already discussing the possibility that we will continue this type of program every summer.
The water time costs nothing and with sunshine and 30 degree temperatures, it’s a lovely place to be.
We can’t wait to be playing “proper” water polo again, but until that is possible we will continue to find innovative ways to train in the best ways possible to benefit all of our squad members.
